AirVentions welcomes industry advisor Ray Valeika!
RAY VALEIKA
Ray Valeika is currently an independent aviation consultant advising major companies on aviation matters. He is an internationally recognized senior airline operations executive with more than 40 years of managing the maintenance operations of large airlines. Mr. Valeika retired as Senior Vice President – Technical Operations from Delta Air Lines, Inc in 2004. Previously he served as Senior Vice President – Technical Operations for Continental Airlines and as Vice President – Maintenance and Engineering at Pan American Airlines.
During his 35-year career, Ray has chaired numerous committees and provided leadership for many of the industry’s technological innovations. He served as chairman for the Air Transport Association (ATA) Aging Aircraft Task Force, General Chairman of SAE Aerotech, and Chair of the Engineering, Maintenance,and Material Council (EMMC) of the ATA. Mr. Valeika also participated in the FAA Research, Engineering and Development Committee; Congressional Aeronautical Advisory Committee; and the NRC Greener Skies Committee.
Ray’s many honors include the ATA’s Nuts & Bolts award, the Marvin Whitlock Award from the Society of Automotive Engineers, a Humanitarian Award from the Community Mayors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and Laurel award from Aviation Week and Space Technology. Mr. Valeika holds a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from St. Louis University, Parks College.
