Cygnus Aviation Expo: 2011 Review
Spencer Irvine, AirVentions Inc. CEO, attended the Cygnus Aviation Expo held in Las Vegas last month. The annual meeting represented a key opportunity to learn more about: 1) issues confronting airline ground support operations, 2) important industry trends and company developments on the horizon and 3) how the AirVentions collision avoidance system would bring added value moving forward.
“Meeting attendees who included sales reps, executives, and engineers from the leading ground support equipment manufacturers, distributers, service, and technology companies generally felt their organizations were receptive to new and innovative technology with particular emphasis on it being more efficient, green and clean. Additionally, they were aware of some new product offerings/ modifications in development.”
“Overall the industry seems to have shifted from the more reactionary position of responding to the airlines requests to a more proactive stance of incorporating technology to offer value in their products. Importantly, attendees provided meaningful input into the distribution network which will allow AirVentions to better focus our resources in the future” stated Irvine.
This video which illustrates how the AirVentions collision avoidance system would work and be integrated with existing equipment was introduced at the meeting. It was well received with interest being high as well as the expected number of questions about specifications and details. Overall, the manufacturers provided meaningful input and requested specific follow-ups and/or updates from AirVentions Inc.
